Inspired by the works of Annie Albers. Albers sparked a dramatic reconsideration of weaving as an art form. Following her attendance at the Bauhaus in 1922, Albers took up weaving in the absence of other creative disciplines being available to women. Her line work was inspired by her teacher Paul Kee who taught her to appreciate the power of simple form. Using bold geometric patterned textiles, she blurred the lines between traditional craft and art. As an abstract artist, she uses grids, interlocking shapes, and experimental materials.
