SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER

K&H Design is seeking a talented and ambitious Senior Interior Designer to join our London design studio. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced interior designer to grow with the business and take full responsibility for our wonderful clients and projects in Notting Hill, Kensington and Fulham. 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience working on high-end residential projects. You must be a team player and have a love of listening closely to our clients in order to deliver truly personalised homes every time. You will be able to communicate your ideas through concept design presentations, hand-sketching and CAD drawings.  You must have proven ability to work autonomously whilst always respecting the ethos of the studio.  You will work very closely with the Founder, Katie Glaister. We actively encourage our designers to share knowledge and ideas and to work together for inspiration as well as problem solving. 

We are looking for someone interested in developing their career with K&H Design and growing this position into the Lead Designer role.  This is a full-time position, based at our studio in Fulham, London.

K&H Design is a client-focused interior design studio, providing original and refined design solutions for beautiful homes in London, the countryside and across the world.  Meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of how people live are at the heart of all our projects. We collaborate with craftspeople and specialists to create elegant interiors that also work hard. • Considerable experience in the efficient and technical delivery of exceptional high-end residential projects.
• The ability to truly listen to the client, think carefully and have the breadth of knowledge and creativity to propose exquisite personal design solutions.
• Commitment to creating real homes in which our clients truly want to live.
• A commercial approach to your work with a keen sense of value.
• A thorough knowledge and interest in the history of styles, period and contemporary detailing, and with that the experience of working on classical listed properties as well as new builds.

Key responsibilities

• Leading and delivering projects on time, on budget and to the highest of standards.
• Design integrity of each project as it develops and is executed seamlessly.
• Oversight of team workflow and efficiency.
• Primary day to day relationship with the client and delivering exceptional client service.
• Management of teamwork flow and efficiency.
• Collaboration with and growth of mid and junior designers.  
• Close internal communication with the Founder and the finance manager.
• Close external communication with clients and professional teams.
• Maintaining and building close relationships with suppliers.
• Working closely with the Founder for the continuous improvement and communication of practice standards.

Skills we require

Whilst deep rooted interior architectural work and knowledge is a pre-requisite, at the heart of this role is a developed knowledge of interior design: fabrics, textiles, materiality and furniture styles throughout the ages and from around the globe.  You must demonstrate a black book of established relations with trades, craftsmen and artisans and a hunger to discover and build strong professional relationships with more.

Whilst we expect you to be highly proficient in these packages your role will largely be to oversee the work produced by your team.

Relevant degrees plus six years’ + experience in high end residential design.

Recruitment process
